We are very happy to share that we are part of the monumental design challenge to transform London’s Liverpool Street Station – Britain’s busiest station.
Together with our client Network Rail Property and our friends, the project’s lead architects ACME, we are working to create a world-class transport gateway in the City of London – designing new urban spaces, rooftop gardens, and City Nature for all Londoners.
The new scheme is based on a thorough understanding of the operational needs of the station and its historic significance. While remarkable for its Victorian architecture and cathedral-like concourse, the original 1864 station and its 1991 reconfiguration are in dire need of an upgrade to handle the 80 million journeys made through the hub each year.
The public consultation has just opened. Read more here.
The design team consists of ACME, AECOM, AVR London, Certo Construction, Donald Insall Associates, Gerald Eve, GIA Surveyors, Gleeds, Intelligent Data Collection, JLL, Mima, SLA, and Shared Voice.
