In SLA, we believe that the climate and biodiversity emergencies are the defining challenges of our times. This goes for our projects, where biodiversity is a part of all projects’ nature baseline and where we constantly seek that our work benefits humans, animals, plants, and all the world’s living organisms. SLA is one of the founding signatories of Architects Declare Denmark and a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact. Our method is continuous scientific research into nature’s processes and a deep understanding of the aesthetics and the design of nature. The goal is to solve today’s hardest urban challenges while at the same time enhancing the quality of life for all people.

We know that nature’s grown environment and the built environment differ from one another – although they are not comparable, they are complementary. Only by creating a balance between the two will our cities become truly sustainable and liveable.
