Internship with SLA
— spring 2025
We are looking for talented students with green ambitions who want to be part of everyday life at our studios in Copenhagen and Aarhus during the spring of 2025. The internship concerns architecture, urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture students.
An internship with SLA allows you to gain practical experience working with different project scales and phases, from early-stage design to implementation, both internationally and in the Nordic countries. We tailor each internship to align with your skills, ambitions, and career goals. Former interns have worked on innovative projects such as The Social Spine, the Middle East’s first urban biodiversity park, the 520-acre resilient masterplan for Downsview in Toronto, and the safety and biodiversity transformation in Gellerup New Nature Park.
As an intern, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues with many different skills and qualifications. We promise you a vibrant and varied everyday life in a creative and informal environment. During the internship, one of our project architects will be assigned to follow the projects you are working on. Whenever possible, you will also participate in construction site visits and meetings with our clients and collaborators. We appreciate an informal tone and have a workplace culture with room to take the initiative, ask questions, and become wiser in the process.
Your educational background – and expectations for you
We expect that you are studying to become an architect, urban planner, urban designer, or landscape architect at the Royal Danish Academy, AARCH, KU, AAU, AHO, NMBU, NTNU, or at similar institutions – and that you have completed your bachelor’s degree or are in the process of doing so. We cannot offer you an internship if you have already graduated with your master’s degree.
You are also very welcome to apply for an internship as a foreign resident candidate.
It is essential that you:
— Are creative and good at visualizing thoughts and ideas – either by hand, on the screen, or in the model room.
— Are trained in the Adobe package, AutoCAD, and 3D programs, especially Rhino.
— Are accommodating and curious.
— Have strong English proficiency.
— Have a green beating heart. An interest in city nature is a plus.
Working hours and conditions
Working hours are 37 hours per week, and the internship lasts from Monday, January 27th, 2025, to June 27th, 2025. You will be part of our lunch scheme and various social events, and have access to fruit, tea, and freshly ground coffee in our kitchens.
How do you apply for the internship?
To apply, send us your motivated application, CV, and portfolio as PDF to hr@sla.dk, clearly indicating which of our offices you want an internship in. (Subject field: ‘Internship Aarhus/Copenhagen’). A portfolio is not required if you study urban planning or something similar.
All applications are processed continuously and confidentially. We must have your application by Friday, November 1st, 2024. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via hr@sla.dk.
