Stortinget - Feasability Study

How do you create security measures, where the requirements for security and the desire for vibrant urban spaces are not opposites?

The Norwegian Parliament in Oslo (Stortinget) is Norway's democratic focal point and a symbol of the open and free Norway. The area surrounding the Storting must be ensured in an open, secure and free way, creating optimum conditions for the city life to thrive nonetheless. In the study of possibilities, SLA proposes a range of state of the art security measures that are integrated as gentle, democratic and respectful interventions in the historic surroundings. Interventions, that are not only risk reducing, but also highlights the historical imprint, the aesthetic values and experiences, and combines them with practical solutions for traffic, climate adaptation and resting places.
